Cold Plunge & Chiller Warranty
LIT Method Inc. guarantees to the original purchaser that all LIT Cold Plunge and Chiller products are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Follow the guidelines below to keep your warranty active — including where to purchase the replacement filters required for coverage.
1-Year Limited Warranty Coverage
All coverage below applies for one (1) year from the original date of purchase. This warranty covers residential use only unless a commercial unit was purchased.
Warranted against functional failure caused by defects in the housing structure, including cracks, blisters, or delamination due to defective materials or workmanship.
The pump, compressor, chiller components, heater, sensors, and control system are warranted against malfunction due to defects in materials or workmanship.
All factory-installed plumbing, including hoses, fittings, and valves, are warranted against leaks caused by defective materials or workmanship.
Factory-installed filtration, UVC, and ozone systems are warranted against malfunction due to defects in materials or workmanship.
All other factory-installed components — base, inlet/outlet grilles, frame, and internal mechanical assemblies — are warranted against defective materials or workmanship.
LIT will repair or replace any defective product properly installed and used under normal conditions. If repair is not feasible, LIT will replace with a comparable unit carrying the remaining warranty period.
Maintenance Requirements & Filter Shop
Regular maintenance is required to keep your warranty active. Requirements differ based on use type. Only LIT-approved filters may be used — third-party filters will void your warranty immediately. Shop the correct filters for your setup directly below each schedule.
| Requirement | Interval | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Replace Filter | Every 3–4 weeks | Replace your filter every 3–4 weeks based on frequency of use. Light use (1–3 plunges/week): every 4 weeks. Moderate use (4–7 plunges/week): every 3 weeks. Only LIT-approved filters maintain warranty coverage. |
| Water Cleanliness | Ongoing | Maintain proper water chemistry using only approved chemicals and cleaners. Do not leave stagnant water sitting in the unit. |
| Freeze Protection | As needed | If temperatures drop below 32°F / 0°C, fully drain and unplug the unit. Freeze damage is not covered under warranty. |
| Power Outages | Within 1 hour | Drain or protect the unit during any outage lasting more than one hour. |
| Firmware Updates | When available | Keep the chiller's firmware up to date. Failure to update may void warranty coverage. |
| LIT Parts Only | Always | Only use LIT-branded hoses, accessories, and filters. Only connect the chiller to a LIT-manufactured plunge tub. |
| Power Off at Night | Daily — 18hr max | The chiller must be powered off at night and cannot run more than 18 hours per day. Running the unit beyond 18 hours will cause it to overheat and malfunction, which is not covered under warranty. |
| No Ice in Tub | Always | Do not add ice directly into the tub while the chiller is connected and running. |
| Requirement | Interval | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Replace Filter & Drain | Weekly | Replace the filter and fully drain the unit every week without exception. The unit must be drained every time the filter is changed — do not replace the filter without draining first. Usage guide: 50–70 plunges/week = 1 filter/week; 75–120 plunges/week = 2 filters/week; 120+ plunges/week = 3 filters/week. |
| Water Cleanliness | Ongoing | Maintain proper water chemistry at all times using only LIT-approved chemicals and cleaners. |
