Welcome to our Low Impact Training Blog — the official information hub for our growing Boltcult community.

Here, you’ll be able to find articles, stories, photos, and videos exploring the benefits of Low Impact Training, our signature LIT Strength Machine, and our customized programs.

As trainers with a background in physical therapy, we have witnessed firsthand the bumpy and difficult path a person can face in gaining strength. After suffering from a series of injuries of our own, we noticed two frustrating patterns in traditional physical therapy programs:

First, the recovery process was often plagued by reinjury.

And second, the programs were created by the very same people who live by knee jerk pessimism, who see obstacles instead of opportunity.

Inspired by the notion that there is ‘strength in the struggle,’ we set out to develop a method and a machine where people with a variety of injuries and interests could reach their fitness goals without unnecessary risk.

And what we learned was nothing short of remarkable.

It wasn’t just the people who were referred to us by physicians or those we worked with in our clinics who were suffering. Regardless of background or circumstance, injuries were the one common thread we found in every person seeking to better understand Low Impact Training and its long term value on their health and wellbeing. Either people were afraid of them or they had experienced them and were facing an intimidating road ahead.

In fact, today, new data from the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) finds that 50.2 million US adults report pain on most days or every day, limiting daily functioning and productivity. And during the pandemic, a new Injury Epidemiology study concluded that because stay at home orders directly correlate to an uptick in injuries, there is a need for more deliberate action and public health efforts around injury prevention.

LIT is committed to being the leader in this field. First prototyped in 2018 and launched in 2020, our LIT Strength Machine is the next iteration of our established method. With an innovative design providing you the ultimate rotation and the opportunity to build your body without breaking it, we provide the ultimate all in one setup offering 500+ exercises in rowing, strength training, barre, Pilates, and rehabilitation.

Over the years, we’ve grown a deeper understanding of what’s at the heart of this work. What was once a passion project is now a full fledged movement we are leading to help people find sustainable ways to approach fitness.

Our scars, wounds, imperfections, insecurities, and injuries tell the story of who we are and how we found ourselves here. They are also a prescription for what comes next. And whether you’re a professional athlete or a person seeking to challenge your body in unique ways, whether you’re investing in prehabilitation or regaining your strength and love for your body and mind — we have designed this method, this machine, and this community to support you and all of you.
